Based on the Suzuki Jimny, Japanese tuner DAMD has produced two rally legends.
- With two body packages, the Japanese tuner DAMD is giving the Suzuki Jimny a sense of unity.
- The Little Δ (Delta) is inspired by the Lancia Delta Integrale, while the Little 5, named after the Renault 5 Turbo, is inspired by the former.
- Since 2019, the tuning firm has started producing new body kits for the Jimny; the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon will take place the following month.
A pair of Suzuki Jimny body kits with a rally theme are being released by Japanese tuner DAMD to celebrate the start of the new year. Every January since the arrival of the current generation Jimny a few years ago, DAMD has been releasing a new vintage body kit for the little Jimny.
European Masterpiece: DAMD’s Jimny Transformation with ‘Little 5’ Body Kit
The tuner’s topic for this year is “European Masterpiece.” With two iconic figures from the 1980s rallying, DAMD collaborated with Italian wheel maker Oz Racing to enhance Jimny’s endearing appearance. The fenders on both models are painted with the body color.
“Little 5,” the initial body kit, is based on the instantly identifiable Renault 5 Turbo. In a hilarious move, DAMD marks the Little 5 as “Non-Turbo” right on the side to prevent confusion among onlookers. The headlights of the Little 5 are rectangular, much like those on the French car. Jimny’s likeness to the French standard is further enhanced with a set of amber fog lights and a rectangular radiator grille. To finish the look, a little spoiler is installed on the roof over the back door.
Racing Elegance: DAMD’s ‘Little Δ’ Body Kit – A Tribute to the Lancia Delta Integrale
The second body kit (named “Little Δ” for obvious reasons) is directly inspired by the first generation Lancia Delta, in particular the Delta Integrale. Even though the modifications are virtually the same, the Little Delta appears to be undergoing a more drastic makeover.
Along with the rectangular yellow fog lamps of the actual thing, the Little Delta also receives four circular headlights. Like the genuine one, the radiator grille has a split along the middle. There is also a racing stripe along the length of the car and a huge rear wing attached at the back of the roof, proving the Little Delta’s racing-inspired past.
