Regularly changing the oil in your car is one thing you should always make sure to perform for maintenance. If you drive in cities a lot, this is very crucial.

Some professionals advise changing your oil even more regularly than those suggested by the manufacturer. This will keep corrosive elements out of the engine and prolong the life of your car’s usable parts. The suggested mileage for many cars today is between 5,000 and 7,500 miles.

Modern fuel-injected automobiles start up quite well in cold weather, but even if your car is brand new, you need to allow the oil to rise from the oil pan for around 30 seconds. It is advisable to give an old carbureted automobile some time to warm up before driving. It should be left inactive for around five minutes, according to experts.

A little warming up is required before accelerating at full speed. Gasoline vaporizes more slowly in cooler temperatures, and the oil takes longer to reach the engine. A cold engine may run less effectively and have poor combustion.
