In addition to being an ugly automobile, the Pontiac Fiero made our list because it is risky to drive. In addition to meaning “fire” and “wild,” the name “Fiero” also alluded to the car’s propensity for spontaneous combustion.
When the automobile was first introduced in 1983, sales were strong. Sales of the automobile fell off and it was eventually terminated as buyers began to see an increasing number of reports about the cars catching fire.
