The Ford Maverick, which was marketed from 1969 to 1977 and was aimed to rival the Volkswagen Beetle, is this awful entry. Although the Ford Maverick was positioned as a subcompact “import fighter,” it looked more like a dejected puppy with a protruding lower lip than a worthy car.
Ford added insult to injury by naming the color selections Anti-Establish Mint, Hulla Blue, Original Cinnamon, Freudian Gilt, and Thanks Vermillion. As if the appearance wasn’t awful enough.
