Ford Escort ZX2, a two-door coupe that was launched in the late 1990s, was not a vehicle you would want to be escorted in. With its rounded shape and bug-eye headlights, the ZX2 was a popular automobile in the same period as several others.

Despite the Escort’s poor sales in the United States, a new variant of the vehicle was shown at the Japanese International Auto Show in 2018. Ford did not intend to launch the new Escort in the United States.
